Message from the CEO
In this hour of crisis, I share my thoughts with a mixed feeling of anguish and gratitude as COVID-19 has wreaked havoc not only for businesses but also thrown the lives of daily wage earners into despondency.
I am grateful to various business houses and individuals who, despite being in a quandary, have come forward in this hour of need to provide much-needed relief to the affected by donating meals and rations generously.
When I was wondering how to help the migrant workers, it was Godsend that Ankur called me to check whether we would be able to distribute lunch packets to needy around Electronics City and Attibele area.
It started with just 200 packets from Jain Samaj and grew to 2000 packages per day when Atria Foundation and Feed My Bangalore came on board to support this noble cause. With IIITB opening their hearts, the effort has now grown to 3500 lunch packets per day!
I sincerely thank Ankur Gupta, Jain Samaj, Atria Foundation, Feed My Bangalore, and all students and staff of IIITB, from the bottom of my heart for making this happen.
I also would like to thank all the companies and individuals who have generously contributed towards the distribution of ration and hygiene kits to the needy. In all, we have distributed over 2700 packages and plan to distribute up to 5000 in the next few days.
We were able to emphasize handwashing by distributing soaps, and we thank Wipro for donating 7200 soaps. Washing soap is also part of the list of items being distributed, and there is a plan for distributing reusable cotton masks too.
All this wouldn’t have been possible without the active participation of my team of energetic volunteers drawn from ELCITA, ELCIA, companies in electronics city, and individuals who have tirelessly and selflessly gone about reaching out to the needy in their hour of despair. ELCITA is also implementing Government guidelines and supporting companies in this hour of uncertainty.
I hope and pray that this crisis will pass at the earliest, for which I earnestly hope that all of us adhere to the stipulated safety guidelines diligently.
Let us work as a team with a positive approach to bounce back with discipline, hygiene, and empathy.
God bless and stay safe!
