Electronics City achieves IGBC Platinum Rating, becomes a Model Green City Township

Bengaluru, 05 June 2023 – The Township Authority is thrilled to announce its recent certification with the prestigious IGBC Platinum Rating as a Green City Township. This remarkable achievement solidifies the township’s commitment to sustainable practices, environmental stewardship, and the well-being of its residents.

The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) is the country’s leading authority in promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly developments. The IGBC Platinum Rating is the highest honor bestowed upon cities and townships that meet stringent sustainability criteria, making Electronics City a true pioneer in the green revolution.

  • Waste Management: ELCITA has put into operation a one-of-a-kind Sustainability Park consisting of a 1.6MLD STP and a 16 tons / day solid waste material recovery facility which will help meet its objectives of recycling sewage water and zero-waste to landfill.

Bengaluru, 12th July, 2023 – ElCITA (Electronic City Industrial Township Authority) has been honored with the prestigious “CII National Award for Environmental Best Practices – 2023” in the category of “Most Innovative Project.” The accolade recognizes ElCITA’s remarkable achievement in sustainability and environmental stewardship through its pioneering “Sustainability Park Project.”

The “Sustainability Park Project” comprises an integrated approach to environmental conservation, featuring the following key components:

  • 1.6 MLD STP (Sewage Treatment Plant): A state-of-the-art 1.6 Million Litres per Day Sewage Treatment Plant that significantly reduces water pollution and ensures the responsible management of wastewater.
