ElCITA Wins CII National Award for Environmental Best Practices – 2023
Bengaluru, 12th July, 2023 – ElCITA (Electronic City Industrial Township Authority) has been honored with the prestigious “CII National Award for Environmental Best Practices – 2023” in the category of “Most Innovative Project.” The accolade recognizes ElCITA’s remarkable achievement in sustainability and environmental stewardship through its pioneering “Sustainability Park Project.”
The “Sustainability Park Project” comprises an integrated approach to environmental conservation, featuring the following key components:
- 1.6 MLD STP (Sewage Treatment Plant): A state-of-the-art 1.6 Million Litres per Day Sewage Treatment Plant that significantly reduces water pollution and ensures the responsible management of wastewater.
- 16 TPD Material Recovery Facility: A cutting-edge Material Recovery Facility that promotes waste recycling and resource recovery, thereby reducing the environmental impact of solid waste.
- 250 kWp Solar Plant: A 250 kilowatt peak Solar Power Plant that harnesses renewable energy to meet electricity demands sustainably, contributing to a reduced carbon footprint.
- Upcoming “Sustainability Centre for Excellence, Research & Development”: ElCITA is also in the process of establishing a “Sustainability Centre for Excellence, Research & Development,” which aims to be a hub of innovation and knowledge sharing in the realm of sustainability practices.

GPR Survey | ELCITA is responsible for providing adequate infrastructure and facilities for Electronics City Citizens. The power and OFC (Optical Fiber Cable) lines serve as the primary lifelines of the electronic city. Any damage incurred during the execution of work would have catastrophic consequences and result in significant losses. Recognising this, ELCITA conducted a GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) survey to accurately identify the locations of the underground utilities. | Survey |

Road Assessments | Road condition monitoring is performed using AI-based software, which helps capture images of potholes with accurate longitude and latitude coordinates. The software can identify 10 types of road defects and generate detailed segment-wise reports. Defects are graded from level 0 to 4, with color coding indicating the priority of stretches of roads requiring immediate attention. Based on the analysis, road rectification plans can be formulated.
