Electronics City Industrial Township Authority (ELCITA) invites applications from qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Senior Manager -Electrical.

Role

The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for operating and maintaining ELCITA’s electrical infrastructure to ensure that a reliable, efficient, and sustainable power distribution system is planned and provided across the township while ensuring safety and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the operation and maintenance of ELCITA’s existing electrical infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted and reliable power supply.
  • Improve the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of the electrical distribution network.
  • Optimize the utilization of manpower, materials, and financial resources.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve engineering processes and operational practices.
  • Plan, design, and execute electrical infrastructure projects from concept through commissioning.
  • Ensure that all activities are carried out safely in a sustainable manner.
  • Plan, design, and execute new electrical infrastructure projects, when required, from concept through commissioning.
  • Coordinate with government departments and statutory agencies such as BESCOM, KPTCL, and the Chief Electrical Inspector (CEI/CEIG) to facilitate project approvals, regulatory compliance, and uninterrupted power supply.

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Ensure the availability of a robust, safe, and reliable electrical distribution network.
  • Maintain all electrical equipment, installations, and distribution systems in optimal operating condition.
  • Prepare and manage the department’s annual budget and ensure effective financial control of all activities.
  • Plan and execute projects related to street lighting, power distribution, diesel generators, UPS systems, traffic signals, and Smart City initiatives.Prepare project estimates, technical specifications, tender documents, Letters of Intent (LoIs), and other engineering documentation.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a recognized University/Institution.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience in operation, and maintenance of medium and low voltage electrical distribution systems, preferably in industrial townships, utilities, smart cities, SEZs, large campuses, or infrastructure organizations.
  • Thorough knowledge and hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of power distribution networks, including:
    • Distribution transformers
    • HT/LT switchgear and Ring Main Units (RMUs)
    • Distribution panels, feeder pillars and LT panels
    • HT/LT underground cable networks
    • Overhead distribution lines
    • Earthing and lightning protection systems
  • Proven experience in the
  • Strong expertise in electrical load assessment, network planning, voltage regulation, system reliability improvement, loss reduction, and power quality management.
  • Experience in the design, installation, operation, synchronization, testing, and preventive maintenance of Diesel Generator (DG) systems, including AMF panels, synchronization panels, fuel management, and emergency backup systems.
  • Hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of UPS systems, battery banks, battery monitoring systems, inverters, power conditioning equipment, and critical uninterrupted power supply installations.
  • Experience in HT and LT power cabling works, including cable route planning, cable sizing, jointing, termination, insulation testing, fault identification, and restoration.
  • Proven experience in planning, design, estimation, tendering, execution, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical infrastructure projects like street lighting systems, including:
    • LED street lighting
    • High-mast lighting
    • Decorative and landscape lighting
    • Smart lighting control systems
    • Energy-efficient lighting solutions
  • Experience in operation and maintenance of traffic signal systems, intelligent traffic management infrastructure, and Smart City electrical assets.
  • Sound knowledge of electrical project estimation, preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), technical specifications, BOQs, tender documents, bid evaluation, contract administration, and project monitoring.
  • Familiarity with applicable Indian Standards (IS), Central Electricity Authority (CEA) Regulations, National Electrical Code (NEC), IE Rules, CEI requirements, BESCOM/KPTCL standards, and other statutory regulations governing electrical installations.
  • Working knowledge of SCADA, IoT-based monitoring systems, Energy Management Systems (EMS), Remote Monitoring Systems (RMS), smart metering, and other digital technologies used in modern electrical infrastructure.
  • Experience in energy conservation initiatives, electrical safety audits, preventive and predictive maintenance programs, reliability-centred maintenance, and asset lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare departmental budgets, monitor expenditure, optimize operational costs, and efficiently manage engineering resources.
  • Experience in coordinating with statutory authorities such as BESCOM, KPTCL, CEI/CEIG, BWSSB, PWD, and other government agencies for power sanctions, approvals, inspections, energization, and statutory compliance.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage engineering teams, contractors, consultants, and multiple stakeholders while ensuring timely project delivery.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and project management capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak Kannada is essential.
